About Atworth
As our first nursery, Snapdragons Atworth, has held a special place in our hearts since it opened in 1998. The nursery is set in a beautiful, homely farmhouse in the picturesque village of Atworth near Bath. Outside, mature trees and vegetable growing plots enhance the forest gardens and the inviting indoor playrooms are filled with authentic, inspiring resources to provoke children’s natural curiosity. As a village nursery, we are truly embedded in the local community and regularly take part in celebrations and memorials. We are very close to the village recreation ground and to beautiful countryside, where we can often be spotted while out walking and where we invariably bump into Snapdragons families, past and present. Children's happiness, health and wellbeing are central to everything we do so there is an emphasis on outdoor play, healthy food and safe, nurturing environments. We run forest school sessions with our qualified forest school leaders. The nursery has a Food for Life Gold Served Here award from the Soil Association and is a Millie's Mark setting, which means that every staff member, including non-childcare colleagues are paediatric first aid trained.
